Who intensive courses are for

Intensive driving lessons are designed for learners who want to build their driving skills over a shorter, more concentrated period rather than spreading lessons across several months.

They can work particularly well if you already have some driving experience, have a practical test approaching, or can commit enough time to regular lessons. If you’re starting from scratch, we’ll assess your experience and help work out a realistic course structure rather than squeezing you into a fixed number of hours.

How intensive driving lessons work

Your course is built around your current ability, availability and test-readiness. Rather than taking one lesson each week, you’ll complete your driving tuition over a more concentrated period, giving you less time between lessons to forget what you’ve learned.

We’ll cover the full driving syllabus, including car control, junctions, roundabouts, manoeuvres, independent driving and the skills needed to deal confidently with different road and traffic conditions.

As your driving develops, we’ll use mock tests to identify anything that still needs work before test day. The aim isn’t simply to fit as many hours as possible into a short period — it’s to make those hours productive and get you genuinely test-ready.

Getting started

If you’re planning an intensive course around a practical test, you’ll need to have passed your theory test before you can book the practical test itself.

Tell us how much driving experience you already have, whether you’ve passed your theory test and, if applicable, when your practical test is booked. We can then help work out the most suitable approach and how much tuition you’re likely to need.

How many hours will I need for an intensive driving course?

There isn’t one course length that suits everyone. The number of hours you need depends on your existing driving experience, how quickly you progress and how close you are to test standard. Tell us where you’re currently at and we’ll help you choose a realistic amount of tuition.
