Driving Lessons in Teignmouth

Learn to drive in Teignmouth

Learn to drive in Teignmouth with local instructors who know the roads, the test routes and the trickiest junctions inside out.

Our Teignmouth instructors teach right across Teignmouth, Shaldon, Bishopsteignton and the Teign estuary. Every course is built around you — whether it’s your very first time behind the wheel, you’re returning after a break, or you’re polishing up for test day. We keep lessons calm, structured and paced to how quickly you feel comfortable, so there’s never any pressure to move on before you’re ready.

Because we’re local, we teach you on the roads you’ll actually drive day to day — from quiet residential streets to build early confidence, through to the busier junctions and roundabouts you’ll meet around the seafront. You’ll finish knowing the area, not just how to pass a test.

Manual and automatic driving lessons in Teignmouth

We offer both manual and automatic lessons in Teignmouth. Manual gives you a full licence to drive any car; automatic can be simpler and quicker to pick up if you’d rather focus on the road than the gears.

Not sure which suits you? Our manual vs automatic guide walks through the differences, or just ask us and we’ll talk it through — there’s no wrong answer, only what works best for you.

Lessons for every stage

Wherever you are on your journey, there’s an option built for it:

• Beginner lessons — start from scratch, one skill at a time, in quiet areas.
• Nervous learner lessons — calm, patient and completely no-pressure.
• Refresher lessons — rebuild confidence after a break or brush up specific skills.
• Intensive courses — pass sooner with a concentrated block around a test date.

Your local test centre and routes

Most learners in Teignmouth take their practical test at the Exeter test centre. The current pass rate there is around 49% , and we make sure you’re genuinely ready before you book.

In the run-up to your test we practise the routes and manoeuvres you’re most likely to meet, including the seafront, Bishopsteignton, Shaldon bridge and the Teign estuary roads. Familiar roads mean far fewer surprises on the day — see our test routes guide and what to expect on the practical test.
