Get ready for your theory and hazard perception tests with practical guidance that fits alongside your driving lessons.

Theory test help is for learners preparing for the multiple-choice and hazard perception parts of the driving theory test.
We can help you understand the topics you need to revise, work on areas you’re finding difficult and prepare for hazard perception alongside your practical driving lessons.
Whatever brought you here, our instructors adapt each lesson to you rather than working through a rigid script. We go at your pace, build on what you can already do, and make sure every session moves you a clear step closer to test day.
We point you to the right resources, explain the tricky topics and hazard perception technique, and make sure theory and practical progress together.
Everything follows the official DVSA syllabus, so there are no gaps and nothing left to chance. As you progress we introduce busier roads, trickier junctions and the manoeuvres you’ll be tested on, then confirm you’re ready with mock tests before you book.
The car theory test has two parts: multiple-choice questions and hazard perception. You need to pass both parts to pass the theory test.
The multiple-choice section tests your knowledge of subjects including road signs, rules of the road, vehicle safety and dealing with different driving situations.
The hazard perception section uses video clips to test how quickly you recognise developing hazards — situations that could cause you to change speed or direction.
For the multiple-choice part of the car theory test, you need to score at least 43 out of 50.
For hazard perception, you need to score at least 44 out of 75.
You must pass both parts at the same appointment. If you pass one part but fail the other, you’ll need to take both parts again.
During the hazard perception test you’ll watch video clips containing everyday road scenes. You score points by identifying developing hazards early.
A developing hazard is something that would cause you to take action while driving, such as changing your speed or direction. The earlier you correctly identify the developing hazard, the more points you can score.
Practising hazard perception alongside your driving lessons can help you connect what you see in the test clips with situations you experience on the road.
You can start preparing for your theory test while you’re learning to drive. You need to pass the theory test before you can book your practical driving test.
